Where to Eat Vegan In Houston

Here’s a list of vegan and vegan-friendly vegetarian places to eat in Houston. We will update this list as we discover new places.  We will also be adding reviews of what’s good to try at each place so stay tuned. *Listings with a star next to the name are places we’ve visited and recommend.

Houston’s Vegan Restaurants

*Garden Kitchen – A tiny raw-plant based cafe tucked away inside the cardiology office of Dr. Baxter Montgomery’s Heart and Wellness Center located off of South Main not far away from the NRG Stadium.

*Green Seed Vegan – This green little cafe on the corner of Wheeler and Almeda in Houston’s Historic Third Ward is bursting full of plant-based, soy-free, paninis, burgers, juices, smoothies and a variety of raw options. Their cauliflower nuggets are a must-try item.

*Pat Greer’s Kitchen — This is a grab-and-go spot located in Houston’s Fourth Ward. She has a weekly changing menu that features interesting raw items like burgers, lasagne, soups, salads and desserts.

Houston’s Vegan Food Trucks

Ripe Cuisine — Serves burgers,  sandwiches and falafel, featuring sides like sweet potato fries and kale salad.

Raw Chef Renee — A raw food truck with items like nachos, burgers, pizza and desserts.

Falacos — Offers vegan and gluten-free falafel balls in various flavors.

Houston’s Vegetarian, But Also Vegan-Friendly Restaurants

Doshi House — This eclectic Third Ward-based coffee house serves a daily rotating vegetarian and vegan menu along with desserts, teas and smoothies.

*Sunshine’s Health Food Store and Deli — This is home style cooking with beans and rice, salads, vegan nachos, burgers and wraps.

Green Vegetarian Cuisine — This restaurant has three locations, one near Bellaire in Houston, and two others in San Antonio.

Vegan-Friendly Grocery Stores

*Whole Foods Market — This is a great place to quickly grab a vegan breakfast, lunch or dinner. Also a lovely sight when you’re out of town and not quite sure of where to go.

*Central Market — A foodie haven. There are not many of these stores, but when you spot one it’s a good place to grab something to eat whether you’re out of town or out and about.
